The Boston hotel market is generally very expensive, however we have been able to negotiate some bargain prices at fine hotels in the area. To get these special rates, you must identify yourself as attending the Harvard Speech and Debate Tournament.

The Hyatt Regency Cambridge, 575 Memorial Drive, Cambridge (Website)
125 rooms. Situated on the Charles River, a five-minute drive to the tournament, the Hyatt is a spectacular property. Debate teams will appreciate the easy drive, cheap cab ride, or free shuttle to CRLS from 6:30 am to 8:30 am each morning. The Sheraton Commander, 16 Garden Street, Cambridge

This is easily the closest hotel to campus, a three hundred yard walk across the famous Cambridge Commons to Harvard Yard. The hotel features classic styling with a great feeling of "historic Cambridge". The rates for the 2008 tournament are $160.00. Parking is $25 per day. The Westin Hotel, Copley Place, Boston (Website)
135 rooms. Four Star, Four Diamond, luxury hotel in the heart of Boston’s Back Bay. Steps from Newbury Street shopping and nightlife, connected to the Copley Place and Prudential Malls and directly across the street from the Copley Green Line subway stop and the Back Bay Amtrak station. With a flat rate of $135 per night, this is a great value. Complementary high-speed wireless internet access is available in the lobby.  Health club, indoor pool, jacuzzi, open 24 hours. The Marriott Hotel, 2 Cambridge Center, Cambridge (Website)
310 Rooms. $149 per night. Next door to Legal Sea Foods and the T, for a quick ride straight to Harvard. Reservations can be made by calling 617-494-6600 or 877-901-2080 by January 23, 2008.
Holiday Inn Select, Government Center, 5 Blossom Street, Boston (Webite)

100 rooms. Just one more subway stop past the Cambridge Marriott (but a block or so away from it), very much in Boston, but just across the Charles River from Cambridge. Surrounded by restaurants and fast food, and only five blocks from Faneuil Hall and other great shopping. Rates: $119.00 for up to four persons in a room. Parking is expensive in an adjacent covered garage. Reservations may be made by calling 617-742-7630, no later than January 14, 2008.

Holiday Inn, Somerville

50 Rooms.  Easily accessible from I-93 and only a five to seven minute drive to the Harvard campus.  Great heated indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi.  The rate is $109.00 for up to four people.  Free Parking.  Reservations may be made by calling 617-628-1000, no later than 5:00 pm, January 16, 2008.

Sheraton Tara Newton, Newton (Website)

30 Rooms. This hotel hosts our college tournament and does a great job. The hotel is built literally on top of the Mass Turnpike at Exit 17 (Cambridge is Exit 18), it only takes us 7-8 minutes to drive it, and a cab ride runs about $20. Good food on the premises and in the neighborhood, including a Legal Sea Foods at nearby Chestnut Hill. Fab views of the Boston skyline and the turnpike. Rates of $95 and pay parking available at a garage on the premises, make this place a great value. The Liberty Hotel, Boston
80 Rooms.  Boston's newest luxury hotel, conveniently located next to the MGH/Charles St. T stop on the red line (3 stops from Harvard Squre). The Hotel @ MIT, Cambridge (Website)

50 Rooms. The Hotel @ MIT is a 4 Diamond rated property, located 3 blocks from the Central Square subway stop on the red line, one stop from Harvard Square. Lots of food and shopping are available in the neighborhood. Grocery store is located in the same complex. Rates are $139.00 per night for up to four persons per room. Complimentary wired and wireless internet is available in all guestrooms and public areas. Three Practice Rooms have been set aside on Saturday and Sunday for teams. DoubleTree Guest Suites, Boston
75 Suites. Just across the Charles River from Harvard, this hotel is home to the world-famous Sculler’s Jazz Club. An all-suites hotel, each suite has two rooms, two TVs and telephones.
